Message from Director

On behalf of my colleagues at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland, I am proud to welcome you to the homepage of our Prevention and Control Core, funded by the National Institutes of Health. Our goal is to help prevent and control diabetes in Maryland and beyond by two means: first, by supporting diabetes research that focuses on the health of communities and populations; second, by providing a trusted source of information about diabetes and diabetes research for the people of Maryland and neighboring states.

If you are a health professional or researcher, I invite you to learn more about our outstanding faculty and the resources they can provide related to epidemiology, biostatistics, behavioral medicine, and health informatics. I also invite you to learn more about the many other cores within the Hopkins-Maryland Diabetes Research and Training Center that can support research on genetics, human physiology, cellular biology, and animal models of diabetes.
